This is Marathon’s new Anthracite Black Search & Rescue Diver’s Automatic wrist watch with a matching black anthracite bracelet (model WW005005BK-MA). The matte Anthracite IP coating on the watch case, bezel and crown elevates the watch’s refinement and provides superior scratch resistance. The Anthracite IP coating is 3 times harder than stainless steel.

This Diver’s watch is water resistant down to 30 ATM – 300 meters (1000 feet) underwater. The watch case is built with 316L surgical grade stainless steel that has an incredibly durable anthracite color IP coating. It’s a high quality, purpose built watch that will reliably accompany you on any adventure you may embark on. The scratch resistant sapphire glass crystal ensures that the dial can be read even under direct sunlight, or deep underwater. Inside is a Swiss made, Marathon M2, 26 jewel Sellita SW200 automatic movement, that gives you a reliable and accurate timekeeping experience.

Tritium gas filled tubes provide the illumination sources to ensure constant visibility of the time in low light situations. Glass tubes are placed by hand on each hour marker and on each hand. Tritium tubes are self-illuminating gas tubes which contain an isotope of hydrogen, meaning they will not dull down in brightness like normal photo-luminescent paint which requires an external light source to create a glow. The 12 hour bezel marker is made of MaraGlo which needs to be charged by light to glow.

The watch comes with a 316L stainless steel bracelet that has 1 to 1.2 micron thick black anthracite IP plating (the industry average is only 0.50 to 0.70 microns). It has 14 solid links that are individually sandblasted, plated and hand assembled. There is a double-screw link system on each link. The bracelet also resists sweat and general salt fog corrosion. It has a butterfly clasp with micro adjustments and a push-button safety clasp. Manufactured in La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland.
