Dave Berghold Watches Model 1A

From the hands of an experienced craftsman comes the DB Model 1A. Immediately at first glance, you can tell it is a product of quality. The German case, from Ickler, was made specifically for the Model 1. The crisp white dial is enamel painted, a painstaking process that yields a mirror polished white finish. The dial evokes the vintage railroad timepieces of yesteryear and is also sourced from Germany. The arabic numbers are filled with Superluminova that gives an aged appearance, but glows bright green in low light. A railroad style chapter ring aids in reading the minutes. At the 6:00 position is an offset seconds hand. Below this is "Bozeman, MT", where DB watches are assembled and regulated in Dave's own workshop.

The French manufactured hands are thermally blued, not painted. This is a process where a craftsman slowly heats the steel hands over an open flame - as they get hotter and hotter, the steel starts to take on different hues. Only the best know when to remove them from heat to get the beautiful blue color to shine. The hour and minute hands are filled with the same aged Superluminova.

Powering the watch is a 24 jewel Sellita movement, caliber 216. The movement is a hand winding movement that hacks (seconds hand stops when changing the time) and has a power reserve of 42 hours. Turning the watch over allows you to view the gorgeously finished elaborate grade movement. Complete with fine finishing and blued screws, you will find yourself gazing through the caseback maybe as much as the front. The rear plate of the movement has been etched with the DB logo, and the crown is push-pull.

Attaching it to your wrist is a brown 20mm Bison hide strap that is custom made for DB Watches by Hadley Roma.
