The Islander Astoria features a tonneau (French for barrel) shaped case that is perfect for dressing up for your next event. The case is just 34mm across and 37mm tall. The lug to lug is kept to 44.2mm, making this the ideal dimensions for a dress watch. At 9.2mm thick, it will easily fit under a shirt cuff.

The intricate textured dial is broken up into 2 sections. The outer portion of the dial has radial striations, and inside is a hypnotic eye texture. Roman numerals are used at the 12, 3, 6 and 9 positions. Polished cathedral style hands are used to denote the time. Contrary to typical dress watches, we felt luminescence was important, so both the dial and the hands use a combination of Superluminova that makes the time visible in the dark, but does not detract from the watch during the day.

Powering the watch is a true no-date Miyota 9039. This movement beats at 28,800 bph, ensuring a smooth seconds hand that ticks at 8 times per second. Adjusting the time with the push-pull crown is simple.

Turning it over, the solid caseback has an etching of Steinway Manor, located in Astoria. This is the same namesake as the piano company. Attaching the watch to your wrist is an 18mm leather backed fabric strap secured with quick-release spring pins. The strap tapers to 16mm at the prong buckle. The strap length is 115 x 75mm.
